I had a great time working with everyone during the CuC. I was exhilarated by the attendance and participation.

The planning portion could have been a little better organized, which would have been less painful, but it still served its purpose.

I liked the opportunity to record and review the sessions since I couldn't be in all of them, but wanted to be.

I attended the session on collaboration between libraries and was pleased that we had all types of libraries represented. Rachel Shankles shared information about the library group in Garland County. We also discussed how we could collaborate with our local libraries and how we could help each other. If other public and academic libraries would like to contact their local public school libraries, they can get in touch with the nearest educational coop http://arkansased.org/schools/schools_coops.html Generally each coop meets with their media specialists 2-4 times a year and has weekly contact through media delivery. We have a state-wide group called Arkansas Association for Instructional Media (AAIM). The nearly 600 members stay in touch through a listserv and a yearly conference. AAIM membership ($20 per year) allows you to post to the listserv and gives a discount to the conference http://aaim.k12.ar.us/Forms/AAIM%20Gift%20Membership%20Form.pdf

Christopher,

I'm bringing a presentation about a grant proposal that addresses that issue. Hopefully I'll be one of the ones "voted" to speak! I figured that the Butler Center would be interested in something like that too.

I am interested in brainstorming about a statewide digital repository of resources for Arkansas like the Online Archive of California http://www.oac.cdlib.org/ or like Oaister http://www.oaister.org/.

I'd be interested in what are the best practices when it comes to managing a library computer lab. This can deal with (but is not limited to): Computer maintenance, computer security, coordination with the campus IT department, privacy issues, legal issues (especially for those who get public funds), etc.

I'd also like to get a conversation going about screencasting and the various available software packages that are available for building online tutorials (Jing vs. Camtasia vs. Captivate). I'd love to know what others are using and how they are employing this technology within their bibliographic instruction services.

Our biggest issues right now are
1.being sure we pass the standards for library support of online learning (this seems to be leading to more active library presence on our course management system)
2. Thinking of upgrading to TLC LS2 PAC - would be interested in knowing other's take on that
3. how to market and encourage use of online databases and ebooks
4. reference - are you going electronic or still print?
